Apple Blackberry Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 serve of homemade pastry
  • 2 1/2 pounds of apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  • 2 cups blackberries, fresh or frozen, unthawed
  • 1 cup raw sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
  • vanilla icecream

Method

  • Prepare pastry and leave in fridge for 1/2 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 180. Mix apples and blackberries together in large bowl. If blackberries are frozen, gently hit bag on counter to break up the frozen blackberries.
  • In another bowl combine sugar, spices, and flour. Gently stir into the fruit mixture.
  • Spoon fruit filling into prepared crust, then dot with butter. Top with remaining pastry, leaving slight overhang. Crimp edges of top and bottom crusts together, sealing fruit into the shell.
  • Bake for approx 45 mins.
  • Optional to serve with vanilla icecream or cream.
