Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups plain flour
  • 125g butter
  • approx 1/2 cup cold water

Method

  • Sift flour and butter until resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Slowly add water until reach desired consistency (holds together easily but avoid getting very sticky).
  • Wrap in glad-wrap and rest in fridge for 1/2 hour.
  • Use approximately 2/3 mixture for base, 1/3 for cover of a pie/flan dish recipe.
  • When rolling out, roll between two sheets of grease-proof paper (eg glad-bake).
