* 15g butter&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 medium onion, chopped&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 clove garlic, crushed&lt;br /&gt;
* 2 cups water&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 large vegetable stock cube, crumbled&lt;br /&gt;
* 5 medium (500g) tomatoes, chopped&lt;br /&gt;
* 2 tbsp tomato paste&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped&lt;br /&gt;
* 250g pasta&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
== Method ==&lt;br /&gt;
Melt butter in large saucepan, add onion and garlic, stir over medium heat for approx 2 mins or until onion is soft.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Add water, stock cube, tomatoes, paste and basil.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover, simmer for approx 20 mins or until tomatoes are cooked.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Add pasta gradually to large saucepan of boiling water, boil uncovered until pasta is tender, drain.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Blend or process tomato mixture in several batches until smooth.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Stir in pasta (original recipe only listed 90g pasta but we like more!)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
