== Ingredients ==

* 150g self-raising flour
* 50g rolled oats
* 75g wholemeal flour
* 1 tsp baking powder
* 1/4 tsp salt
* 50g unsalted butter, softened
* 50g walnuts, roughly chopped
* 1/4 cup buttermilk
* 75ml maple syrup (or golden syrup)

== Method ==

# Preheat oven to 200°C.
# Line flat baking tray with non-stick baking paper
# Put the dry ingredients and butter in a large bowl. Rub butter into the flour.
# Add the walnuts.
# Make a well in the centre. Add the buttermilk and syrup and mix well to make a dough.
# Gently press or roll out dough until 3cm thick.
# Cut with cutter or glass into rounds and place scones 1cm apart on prepared tray.
# Bake for 12 minutes or until light golden and hollow when tapped on top. Cool on a wire rack.
