Hummus

Ingredients

  • 500g cooked chickpeas (400g can is fine)
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tsp salt (if not using canned chickpeas which are already salted)
  • 1/2 clove garlic crushed
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • dash of olive oil
  • about 2 tbsp liquid from cooking chickpeas or from can

Method

Blend all ingredients until smooth. It is good to start with small amounts (other than the chickpeas, of course) and add more to taste.

Serve with pita bread, Turkish bread, or raw vegetables.
